The One Health concept
INTRODUCTION
The One Health concept dates back to the 2000s and stems from the awareness of the interactions between human health, animal health and the environment. It is supported by international public health organizations such as:
- The World Health Organization (WHO)
- The World Organization for Animal Health (OIE)
- The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)
The recent Covid-19 pandemic has only further underlined the relevance of the One Health concept.
